Constance Lucas (nee Hiscock) died from throat cancer. Like Sue, Con had lost the use of her voice for the last 3 years of her life. SUE REMEMBERS She was a wonderful mother, homemaker and friend of many. Cancer in those days was harshly treated and she endured a great deal of pain. In addition she must have been enormously destressed at loosing her voice, feeling immense isolation. I am filled with admiration for the way my adult children care for me and wish I had done half so well for my mother. SUE
